Would you strengthen your community for generations to come?
What if you could do all three?
That's the way a proposed partnership between the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and Northeast Community College in Norfolk has been described - and appropriately so.
Because the creation of new nursing division in Norfolk has the potential to do all three.
This week in the Daily News, a series of stories will examine the partnership, what progress already has been made and, most importantly, what benefits all of Northeast Nebraska stands to gain as a result.
It's about people, communities, hospitals, clinics, economic development and much more. It's one project but with many goals.
Sure, there's a price tag attached to this ambitious project, and a fundraising campaign is in the works. But this week, the focus is on what the partnership could mean.
Readers of the series will hear from nursing students, hospital administrators, lawmakers, those in need of nursing care, university officials and others.
They all bring different perspectives to the topic, but they share the same vision - to make a College of Nursing Northern Division a reality.
